5 Metabolism Boosting Drinks

These are the kind of shots you can do in the morning.
I recently wrote a post about the benefits of drinking lemon water in the morning. In that post I dispelled some of the myths around it (like the claim that it helps with weight loss & detoxing). And even though it won’t make you miraculously lose 10 pounds in a week, it does in fact help with digestion and is a great metabolism booster. 

But lemon water is not the only drink that has metabolism boosting properties. Spices like cinnamon, cayenne pepper, ginger, green tea & turmeric are known to speed up the processes inside your body that help burn calories and shed fat. Check out the 5 meta boost shots recipes below and give them a try! 

(Pssst! These are great not just as metabolism boosters, but also as energy shots whenever you need a little pick-me-up!)

Wake Me Up
1 inch ginger, minced
1 tsp turmeric
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
pinch of black pepper

Apple Cider Shot
1-2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2/3 cup of water
4 tbsp organic apple juice
1tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp cayenne pepper

Go Green
2/3 cup of green tea (steep 2 tea bags to make it more concentrated)
1/2 tsp honey or agave syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
shake of cayenne pepper (optional)


Fresh & Minty
2/3 cup of peppermint tea (steep 2 tea bags to make it more concentrated)
1 lemon, squeezed
1/2 tsp honey
pinch of Himalayan salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper

Fruity & Zesty
4 tbsp grapefruit, squeezed
2 tbsp lemon, squeezed
1 tsp maple syrup
1 tsp cinnamon
